Is Your House Haunted?

Have you ever watched a scary movie, sat around a campfire listening to ghost stories, or read a book about a haunting, and thought it sounded awfully familiar? If you answered yes, then you may have a ghost problem! And, a ghost problem is a very serious problem indeed. All ghosts are inherently evil, walking the earth for no other reason than to make you uncomfortable in your own home. But, how can you tell if your house is really haunted, or if it’s just drafty?

1. Do you sometimes see children in your house, even though you don’t own any?

This is a common occurrence reported by haunting victims. The children, who are actually ghosts of children, usually look innocent, and harmless. You may walk into the empty room you have upstairs near the attic, only to find that it is not empty, but occupied by a small child playing with a fire truck, or, if it’s a girl, a doll. You will not be able to see the child’s face, as they will either have their back turned to you, or will be wearing some sort of veil. But, beware, these apparitions are far from innocent, and will usually attack you if you try to touch them, or communicate with them.

2. Did someone commit homicide, or suicide in your home?

This should always be the first question you ask before buying, or renting, a home. Because, if any kind of bloody act was committed in the house, no matter how long ago, you can be sure it will happen again, this time to you. My own personal studies (which consisted of watching dozens of horror films) showed a 100% haunting rate in homes where an atrocious act was previously committed.

3. Do you often leave a clean room, just to come back and find it find messy, and unorganized?

This is often an example of a haunting by a rude ghost. This sort of haunting happened to me many times in my youth. My parents would get home from work (what they called picking up the welfare check), only to find the house a mess. When my siblings and I denied their allegations during questioning, they would always sigh and say “well, I guess that damn ghost most have done!”

4. Was the house built on, or near, a cemetery?

This is especially serious if it was an Indian burial ground, used to bury the victims of violent torture. Houses like these have a tendency to drive a family member, usually the father, mad, causing him to kill his entire family. If this is true of your home, you should move immediately.

5. Was the price of your beautiful Victorian home just too good to be true?

Well, that’s because it is. If the price is well below the market value, then it is most likely known to the realtor that house is haunted. A few other signs to look out for: does the realtor refuse to enter certain rooms, such as the attic or basement? Does the realtor seem jumpy, and eager to leave? Is the realtor overly insistent that you buy the home, and move in immediately? If so, beware, the house is most likely haunted.

6. Are priests afraid to enter your home?

All priests are good, clean, men of god, and will enter your home to consol you in your time of need, for whatever reason. Except of course, if the house is haunted. Some are especially brave, and will enter to help exorcise a demon, but be wary if a priest declines your request to come to your house.

7. Are family members acting odd?

Is your normally friendly, sweet son suddenly bitter and mean? Do you frequently see him smile, for no discernable reason? Do you walk past his room, just to see him talking to the thin-air? Are your neighbor’s cats all suddenly dying? Well, if so, then your son is probably possessed. This is rare, but it does happen in extreme cases. If you suspect a family member is possessed, immediately call your local Catholic Church, if you’re lucky, they may have a priest brave enough to help exorcise them. If there are no willing priests in your area, try contacting a voodoo shaman. If you are unable to locate a voodoo shaman, then your best bet is to kill the possessed individual.

If you answered yes to one, or many of those questions, then congratulations, your house is haunted! There is good chance one or more of your family members will die. But, take heart, you are guaranteed to make some money. Millions of people flock to haunted houses every year, and are willing to pay a handsome $5 fee just to see the blood-spatter on the wall.
