Making pictures better with Photoshop

Have you ever wondered how models and actresses in magazines always look so good? It’s because the photos have been “touched up.” The pictures in virtually every magazine have been digitally enhanced to give a false beauty to the subject. But, why should this be limited to models in magazines? Why not do the same thing to make your everyday photos look better? Follow this simple tutorial, and you’ll make your pictures go from the one on the left (in the picture above) to the one on the right.

1. Download or buy a copy of Adobe Photoshop

You can download a trial version of Adobe Photoshop from Adobe’s web site. If you decide you like the program, you can then buy a license. I do not recommend using “keygens” and “cracks” (that can be downloaded via torrents and such) to unlock your trial version, as this is “illegal” and “immoral.” Cases of people being beat to death by FBI agents after illegally cracking software are quite common. You have been warned!

2. Install Photoshop

This should be fairly simple. Simply double click on .exe file you downloaded from Adobe, and follow the instructions.

3. Open the photo of yourself you want to edit

Simply find the picture you want to “enhance” and right-click, then choose “open with,” then choose “Adobe Photoshop.” This will open that picture in the photo-editing software.

4. Find a picture of someone you want to look like

Search Google images for a “target” picture of someone you want to look like. It usually best to find a picture of someone who looks somewhat like you, with the same hair color, eye color, etc. Once you find this picture, right-click on it, and choose “save as.”

5. Open the “target” picture

Using the same process of step 3, open the “target” picture.

6. Copy “target” picture

On the top menu, choose “select,” then “select all.” Push the “ctrl” key and the “c” key at the same time, to perform the “copy” function.

7. Paste the “target” picture

Now, this is the hard part. Go back to your original picture, and click somewhere inside the picture. Now, push use the paste function by pushing the “ctrl” key and the “v” key at the same time.

8. Trim the picture

All that is left to do now is trim the edges of the picture, so only the “target” picture shows. To do this, select “image” from the top menu, then “trim.”

9. Save the picture

Now save the picture by going to “file” on the top menu, and then choosing “save.”

Congratulations! You should now have a good looking picture! Feel free to upload this to your Myspace and Facebook page, so everyone knows how good you really look. People will love you now!
